Start treating for brownpatch fungus this week if your lawn had brownpatch problems last years.  Systemic fungicides are the most effective.  Repeat in 30 days.

Bring your poinsettia indoors and cover is so it gets 14 hrs. in the dark, 10 hours in the light.  Stop watering and feeding.  Take out at Thanksgiving and it will bloom again this Christmas.

Apply pre-emergent weed killers late this month.  Winter weeds will start to germinate with the arrival of cool weather fronts.
